Eve has shown a great passion for my crafts from the early days of our friendship. Some days I feel she's more passionate about it than I am (we all have our down days). Sometime before Christmas she asked me if I could make her a Dragon Wing Cowl. As a Game of Thrones fan myself, I'd had this pattern in my Ravelry queue for a while, I was happy to oblige.
The pattern uses an interesting technique of dropping stitches and unravelling a column through a piece of solid garter stitch, then looping groups of the loose threads back up through themselves to create the spines in the wing. A quick block and the final touches of some gold highlighting on the outer and central spine and three toggles to fasten it up against the Winter winds. I think Eve's pretty happy with it (despite how it may seem in my enforced photoshoot)!
Materials: Drops Alaska. Quite soft and very warm.
